Keelson House, Cambridge

House with chimney and large glazing

Thermal improvements and conservation of a grade II listed contemporary modern house in Cambridge.

Grade II listed house in Central Cambridge, which was originally designed by notable Danish Architect Erik Christian Sørensen in the 1960s.

Works include an extensive considered refurbishment of the existing building fabric and improvements to the thermal efficiency. The property will be taken off the gas supply in a phased approach and will rely on a new Air Source Heat Pump to power the replaced underfloor heating and new hot water supply.

A careful approach and consideration of retaining existing materials and finishes was discussed in length with the Local Authority Planning and Conservation Officers, which resulted in strong support for the project.
